AnaJet Basic Operational and Financial Facts
Some basic operational data useful for financial analysis of AnaJet apparel printer operation are presented below. Since many factors affect the operational efficiency, the numbers are a typical or average figure. The numbers presented below are for a shop operation which has attained reasonable operational efficiency. Starting shops may have lower production rate and higher ink costs due to waste and other factors. In a financial analysis, careful consideration should also be given to the amount of business the shop can generate
Shirt costs:
White Tee shirt: $1.00 to $1.20 wholesale
Black Tee shirt: $2.00 to $2.25 wholesale
Ink cost per shirt printed (approx. 10”x12” graphic)
White shirt: $.40 to $.60 per
Black shirt: $1.50 to $2.25 per
Typical selling price of printed Tee shirts (Retail)
White shirt: $15 to $30

Black shirt: 3:00 to 4:00 min for white and color inks
Production Rates for White shirts
Hourly production rate: 20 to 30 shirts including garment loading,
printing and heat press time inclusive.
Daily production rate: 150 to 250 shirts (8 hours)
Monthly production rate: 3,000 to 5,000 shirts (20 day month)
(For black tee shirt operations, too many factors affect the operational efficiency. Generally black shirts require three times more time to produce compared to a white or light colors garment.)

At an average selling price of $18 per shirt and direct cost of $2.00 per shirt, the gross margin is about $15.00 per shirt. The printer will pay for itself when you sell 1,000 shirts. The printer is capable of printing more than 3,000 shirts per month. The key to financial success is operator's ability to sell the custom tee shirts.
