Sublimation Imaging Costs
Sublimation imaging costs vary depending on the image colors, image size, resolution, quality of transfer paper as well as other factors. It is difficult to accurately present this information in a way that would be applicable for every printing job. There are many factors, some mentioned above and other such as using cartridges versus a (bulk) Quick Connect system etc. Here is a basic rule of thumb. The more expensive printers are faster, they accept more paper sizes, produce higher quality images and have a longer duty cycle which translates into a longer life. The sublimation ink systems that are offered with a (bulk feed) Quick Connect set up is more cost effective than the cartridge type set up with the exception of the cartridges used in the Epson 4800. All in all, which ever printer you start with the image cost is not typically a significant part of the product cost, if it is then your selling price is not set properly.
Some examples of image costs
Costs below are based in part on a cartridge type set up and start at the higher print cost and extended downward to the more cost effective ink system with faster printers.
3"x3" full color image on a mug $0.56 - $0.25*
7.5"x10" full color image on a t-shirt $2.20 - $0.54*
